Toyo Study Abroad Program 2027 – Call for Applications

Toyo University, Japan, is now accepting nominations for the Toyo Study Abroad Program 2027, an exchange program providing undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to pursue academic studies while developing their intercultural understanding and personal skills through an international learning experience at Toyo University.

The program is scheduled to take place from April to July 2027. Selected exchange students will receive a tuition fee waiver from Toyo University. However, students are responsible for other expenses related to their participation, including travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, and personal expenses.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has studied at their home university for at least one academic year and will not be in the final semester of their degree program during the exchange.

2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

3. Meet at least one of the following language proficiency requirements:

   • English proficiency at CEFR B2 level, or

   • Japanese proficiency at JLPT N3 level or above.

Required Application Documents

Applicants are required to prepare the following documents:

1. Academic Reference

2. Copy of Passport (photo page)

3. Official Academic Transcript, including an explanation of the grading system

4. Proof of Language Proficiency, such as a JLPT N1, N2, or N3 certificate, an eligible English proficiency test result, or other certification of Japanese/English language proficiency

5. Passport-size Photograph for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) application and student ID card

6. Certificate of Health

7. Application for Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

8. Financial Supporting Documents

Applicants should carefully review the official program information and ensure that all required documents are complete before submission.

Important Information for ICDI Students

ICDI may nominate only ONE student for this program.

Interested ICDI students must submit their complete application documents by email to the ICDI International Relations Unit for internal consideration and nomination.

ICDI Internal Application Deadline:
September 20, 2026, by 3:00 PM

Please note that this is the ICDI internal deadline, which is earlier than the university-level and Toyo University nomination deadlines to allow sufficient time for the College's review and nomination process.
