The Bankruptcy Court
The Central Bankruptcy Court was established by the Act of
Establishment of The Bankruptcy Court and Procedure for Bankruptcy
Cases 1999. With the establishment of the Central Bankruptcy Court,
other Courts of First Instance can no longer accept a case falling into the
jurisdiction of the bankruptcy court.
The Bankruptcy Court is empowered to adjudicate cases under the
bankruptcy law and civil cases related to such case. The Bankruptcy Court
also deals with the reorganization case.
6.1.1.2 The Courts of Appeal
6.1.1.2.1 The Courts of Appeal
The Courts of Appeal are located in Bangkok and in nine regions
of Thailand. Most of the Courts of Appeal are situated in Bangkok but
there are regional courts such as the Court of Appeal in Rayong Province,
the Court of Appeal in Chiang Mai Province and the Court of Appeal in
Phuket Province. The Court of Appeal have the main power to adjudicate

6.1.1.2.2 The Court of Appeal for Specialized Cases
Prior to the establishment ofthe Court of Appeal for Specialized
Cases, the appeals against judgments and orders of specialized Courts,
namely Intellectual Property and International Trade Courts, Tax Courts,
Labour Courts, Bankruptcy Courts, and Juvenile and Family Courts were
submitted to the Supreme Court.
