Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Programme 2026–2027 (Azerbaijan)
Chiang Mai University, through the International Relations Division, has been informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan is offering scholarships under the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Programme for the Academic Year 2026–2027.
The scholarship provides opportunities for international students to pursue studies at universities in Azerbaijan in the following programs:
- Foundation (Preparatory) Programs
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree
- Doctoral Degree (PhD)
- Medical and Residency Programs

Applications must be submitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Royal Thai Embassy in the applicant’s country of residence by:
- 15 April 2026, 18:00 (Baku local time)

Applicant Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Medical Programs: not over 35 years old
- Master’s Degree / Residency Programs: not over 40 years old
- Doctoral Degree (PhD): not over 45 years old
- Applicants holding multiple nationalities may apply using only one nationality, which must be consistent with the nationality used for submission through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the relevant embassy
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fee coverage (including preparatory language courses)
- Round-trip airfare (economy class, once per year)
- Monthly stipend of USD 470 (for 10 months per year)
- Annual medical allowance of USD 117
