[TAIWAN] Scholarship Opportunities offered by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan for the year 2026

Chiang Mai University has received a request from the Taiwan Education Center in Thailand to assist in publicizing scholarship opportunities offered by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan for the year 2026. The details of each scholarship program are as follows:

Taiwan Scholarship (MOE)
This scholarship supports studies at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels in Taiwan. It provides a tuition subsidy of up to NTD 40,000 per semester, along with a monthly stipend of NTD 15,000 for undergraduate students and NTD 20,000 for master’s and doctoral students. A total of 24 scholarships are available. The application period is 1 February – 31 March 2026.
Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES)
This scholarship supports short-term Chinese language studies at university language centers in Taiwan. Recipients will receive a monthly stipend of NTD 28,000. Applicants may choose to study for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. The application period is 1 February – 31 March 2026.
Taiwan ICDF Scholarship
This scholarship supports master’s and doctoral degree programs in designated fields, with many programs conducted in English. The scholarship provides full tuition coverage, round-trip airfare, accommodation, health insurance, book allowances, and a monthly stipend of NTD 18,000 for master’s students and NTD 20,000 for doctoral students. The application period is 1 December 2025 – 15 March 2026.
Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) Scholarship (Doctoral Level)
This scholarship focuses on research-oriented doctoral programs. The application deadline is 1 February 2026. In addition, some universities in Taiwan offer university-based scholarships, with application timelines determined by each institution, typically during early and mid-year.
