Call for Applications: Canada–ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED)
Chiang Mai University has received an announcement from the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation requesting assistance in publicizing the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development. This scholarship program is part of Canada’s Indo-Pacific initiative and aims to strengthen educational cooperation by providing opportunities for students from ASEAN countries, the Pacific region, and Mongolia to undertake short-term study or research at Canadian higher education institutions.
The program supports the following study durations:
Students selected for the scholarship will receive financial support covering various expenses, including:

Visa application fees

Round-trip economy-class airfare
-
Health insurance
-
Living allowance covering accommodation and meals

Local transportation
-
Study materials and research-related expenses
Required Application Documents
Applicants must prepare the following documents:

Proof of Citizenship

Signed Privacy Notice Statement for Non-Canadian Participants

Letter of Intent from the candidate
-
Letter confirming full-time enrolment from the home institution

Letter of support from the home institution

Letter of invitation from the Canadian supervisor (required for graduate students only)
Please note that applicants must coordinate with a host institution in Canada, as the Canadian host institution is responsible for submitting the student’s application through the online My EduCanada system.
All application materials must be submitted in the system by 24 March 2026.
