U.S. Embassy in Thailand Announces the Foreign National Student Intern Program (FNSIP) 2026

Chiang Mai University has been informed by the U.S. Embassy & Consulate in Thailand of the opening of applications for the Foreign National Student Intern Program (FNSIP) 2026.

The program offers students the opportunity to undertake internships in various departments of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Thailand, gaining hands-on experience in an international working environment.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a Thai national or a legal permanent resident authorized to work in Thailand

  • Be at least 18 years old on the program start date

  • Be a full-time third-year undergraduate student at an accredited higher education institution in Thailand, with at least one remaining semester before graduation

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.80

  • Have good proficiency in English

  • Be able to pass all background checks and security clearance procedures prior to the start of the internship


Program Conditions

The FNSIP is an unpaid internship program. Selected interns will receive:

  • Practical work experience in an international environment

  • An official Certificate of Completion issued by the U.S. Embassy & Consulate upon successful completion of the program
