4.4.2 Skilled workers

Thai government has created a SMART Visa Program. SMART visa
is a new type of visa designed to attract highly skilled manpower,
investor, executive, and startup entrapreneur wishing to work or invest in
the targeted industries in Thailand. SMART visa holder will be granted
maximum 4 year permission to stay. They will be exempted from the work
permit requirement and will be entitled to additional privileges. The
targeted industry include next generation automotive, automation and
robotics, smart electronics, aviation and logistics, affluent medical and
wellness tourists, biofuels and biochemicals, agriculture and
biotechnology, digital, food for the future, and medical hub.
